BIO
Anne Laughlin is a Chicago writer whose stories have been published in anthologies by a number of leading gay and lesbian presses (Alyson Books, Bold Strokes Books, Cleis Press). Her first novel, Sometimes Quickly, was published in 2008. Her upcoming mystery novel, Veritas, will be her first book with Bold Strokes Books. A detailed list of her publications can be found here on the website page of that name.
In 2008, Anne was named an Emerging Writer by the Lambda Literary Foundation and attended the retreat in Los Angeles in August of that year. Instructors for the week long immersion in workshops, seminars, readings, and writing, were Claire McNab, Elana Dykewomon, D.A. Powell, Rigoberto Gonzales, and Katherine Forrest. It was, in short, a fabulous experience.
In 2009, in addition to signing with Bold Strokes Books, now one of the country's largest LBGTQ publishers, Anne was accepted at the Ragdale Foundation's artist and writers' colony. She will spend the month of November there finishing her next book for BSB. Also in 2009 will be attendance and readings at the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival in New Orleans and Women's Week in Provincetown, MA. Please consult the Events page for details on upcoming events.
Elsewhere in the web site you'll find more information about Anne, links to book chapters and short stories, photos, interviews, and a blog, which will be updated with - let's hope - some regularity. The web site, the blog, and most of all, Anne herself, are works in progress.
